What power supply can i get for my hp computer so it will work with a 8800gt graphics card?
I have a hp pavilion a6109n and i was seeing what psu would work with a 8800gt graphics card. I asked hp what to get and they said i can get any normal Atx Power supply with 460w or less no more. Is this true?
i have an HP PAVILION DY4890Y that came with 350w. I installed new 500w psu and an 8800 gt oc. It worked fine for the first week but then the whole computer became slower. Other yahoo answerer’s told me that my power supply may not be enough.So long story short i have know freaking idea, too many conflicting answers. I have not taken the time to use the watt calculator. you need to know watts of everything to calculate. i have seen a few of them on the net.I would not trust HP to answer that question for you. i was talking to them the other day and just hung up on em because its some dude flipping through a manual not a knowledgeable tech.
